It was soon covered by Bobby Darin, and Al went on to land more than twenty additional titles on the Billboard Pop, R&B, Country, and Adult Contemporary rankings. His songs have been recorded by Jackie Wilson, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Etta James, Peggy Lee, Roy Orbison, and Donna Summer, just to name a few.
